Hi all and welcome to the first autumn notice board.
Can I firstly apologise for the teething problems we have had with registration, fixtures, results and ladder. This is the first season where all of these processes can be entered and viewed through the R40s Website. This has caused some headaches for Maeve at AFL VIC in dealing with the back end but is a positive learning curve for both of us.
Fixtures
We have had three separate fixtures circulated due to teams pulling out at the last minute.
- 2nd Division has not been affected by the withdrawals as Cannons stepped up to replace Fireball in the Draw.
- 1st Division has been affected, due to the late withdrawal of Pretenders, their fixture will now include a BYE. (Make sure you check the draw for you bye round)
I am pleased to say that you can view completed autumn fixtures on the R40s Website - http://www.myafl9s.com/r40-social.html . Results and ladder positions are soon to follow this week, so stand by. (Check to see)
Thanks to Macca who has been punching these out manually and distributing them to captains during the change over process.
Insurance
There have been a couple of insurance enquiries lately regarding how much the JLT insurance covers. We have downloaded some information to our R40s website that should answer most of your question.http://www.myafl9s.com/regoinsurance.html
Roaring 40s will help individuals as much as possible if insurance is required, however, we would like to stipulate that there are limitations to the JLT cover. We encourage all players to take out their own Private Health, Life & Income Protection in accordance with their own needs and circumstances.
All players, both insured and uninsured, by participating in our competitions are agreeing that they are playing at their own risk.
New Players
Could all new players please make sure they are registered and could Captains please make new players aware of the NO CONTACT rule. Remember; go for the TAGS when the opposition player is in possession of the ball and watch your contact when the ball is in flight. If contact is made free kick will be awarded to player in Drop zone (flight path) of ball.
Social Drink and Nibbles
To show our appreciation for the use of their grounds and facilities R40s would like to hold two social nights in the coming weeks.
Round 4 - 26/05/14 - Ashwood Footy club – Essex Heights reserve
Could both divisions please make their way (after their respective games) to theEssex heights reserve pavilion, for a drink and a yarn. Drinks will be at bar prices and snacks will be supplied. Please support this night as they supported us in securing the grounds.
Round 9 – 30/06/14 – East Malvern JFC – D.W.Lucas
Final week. Due to popular demand and 1st Division only having two time slots we are able to hold a Grand final for both divisions at D.W.Lucas on the third time slot. The final will be held between only the two top teams of each division. Other teams will play final round as normal. This may require some draw manipulation for the final round but we will work that out.
We would encourage everyone to support our last round and make their way over to D.W.Lucas Reserve for a social drink and nibbles while watching the finals. We are able to stay a little later at Lucas so you can enjoy the night without having the normal time constraints.
Cheers
