Roaring 40s was originally set up to give Primary school dads a chance to get to know each other by forming teams to play in our AFL9s competitions. This has expanded to include Jr footy dads, Super Rules dads and dads from different schools forming composite sides. Our R40s Community now has over 45 teams with in excess of 500 dads playing each Monday night and we are always looking for more.

So either give us a call or contact us via email through our contacts page.

After the overwhelming success of Womens AFL footy throughout the land, We introduce Mixed teams to AFL9s footy . Not only do players get to enjoy benefits of team play, skills and fitness in a non contact competition, both Women and men get to experience  the fantastic social atmosphere that R40s is famous for. Events, fundraisers and great finals series are all part of the deal when you join our competitions.

Give us a call or send us an email if your team is keen.

One For the Dads

Picture
Roaring 40s  Initially started with dads from local Primary schools around the Glen Iris Area. Our over 35s competition has grown to include teams from the inner South Eastern region of Melbourne, covering  Boroodara, Stonnington, Monash and Glen Eira council areas. Roaring 40s has grown from 3 Teams to 55 and now has over 600 registered players making it the biggest over 35s AFL9s competition in Australia.

Our Goal was and still is to include all local  Primary schools in our region, bringing together a fantastic community of Primary Dads through our AFL9s Competitions. This demographic has expanded to include dads from Jr Footy clubs around the region who have become a most welcome addition to our AFL9s footy Family.

A Mixed competition was introduced in 2019 and has proved very popular with both                                                                                                          women and men. The the skill development from the ladies was unbelivable as the beginners                                                                                          turned in to pro's in no time.
